As we go through life seeking to feel or even experience the presence and power of the Almighty God one has to wonder where did our zeal and passion go. Lots of times we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life and forget the he is the source of our strength. Yes we go to church and attend Bible study, but something is missing in out heart and we know it. there is an emptiness that's there.
Bartimeaus was a blind beggar who knew no other life except begging, but one day he heard that one day Jesus was passing by. The same Jesus that had been healing the sick and raising the dead. The same man who had been giving sight to the blind and walking on water. Bartimeaus thought to himself that he had to get this wonderful man's attention because if anyone could change his situation then Jesus could. You see Bart was know as the son of the dirty man and that gave him his identity. He accepted that mediocre life all those years and couldn't get out of the normal hustle and bustle of life and begging.
Jesus passed by and Bart began to shout to the Lord, The church folk told him be quiet, it don't take all of that to praise God, you don't have to lift your hands like that, you don't have to jump and shout like that, but Bart thought to himself I've got to get his attention to so that he can heal my body and set my soul free.
The thing about us today when we are stuck in a rut is we forget how to praise God in the bad times as well as the good. God inhabits the very praises of his people so he lives there and he will bring healing to you and your situation. Bart was called by Jesus and healed and Bart followed Jesus, we can't forget to Praise Him to bring him near and he will hear our petitions there after. This is Pastor O saying that we don't have to fight for the Victory we can fight from our place of Victory because the Victory is already ours!!!!

He prayed
Sometimes in this life we feel burdened down with the weight of the world on our shoulders. Our minds run back and forth trying to rationalize whats really going on. We get to the point that we say that we are going to give up, but we are torn with staying in the fight and just letting it all go. Believe me I've been there .
God wants to let us know that no matter what we go through that He has never and will never give up on us. Though it seemed like the Lord had given up on his people when he wrote the book of Malachi and closed heaven for 300 years. The good news is that he sent his Son named Jesus to die in the pardon of our sins.
Jesus wants us to make it so that when we look at Luke 22:31,32 he told Peter that satin wants to sift you as wheat, but Jesus had prayed that his faith didn't fail. Wow The Jesus that is in Heaven who prayed for Peter the Apostle is at the right hand of The Father interceding for us right now. The only thing we have to do is stay on course and don't give up.
Hey when life gets you down remember Jesus is praying for you so don't give up.
This is Pastor O saying you don't have to fight for the VICTORY you can fight from your place of VICTORY because the VICTORY is already ours through Christ Jesus. Peace

The Work
Whe Jesus called the discilpes he called the to a life of service to their Master and to their community. Wjen Christ called them he gave them certian things they needed for their journey. Sometimes when he has a mission in mind he would tell them to take nothing with them. In Mark 6:7-8 Jesus instructs His dicciples to go out, but he gives them specific instructions not to take money, no extra clothes, or any food on their journey. Jesus was say ing that he has aleeady prepaired the way for them to go.
Many times as ambassaders for Christ we get impatient on how God is going to make a way for us. The supply seems slim and the money looks very low. We should take solice in the fact that God has already put in place everything we need for the journey. he doesent always share the details of the journey, but he always supplies.
Remember if he tells you to go its always a FAITH walk we have to be on and not a walk by sight. We want to see the end results before we even get started, but if God did this for us then how would our faith grow.

A Thorn In My Flesh
For the last past month I have been dealing with some physical issues. I appreciate all of the prayers from friends an family. The test for me, as I think on it, is that how will this allow God to get Glory. I have tried and tried to think of an answer, using my intellect and even asking friends who are in the medical field to help me diagnose my particular issue, but the problem still persisted. Sitting here tonight I have come to the realization that I was seeking the wrong answer. I was trying to be the man and trying to be strong because I am a man, not thinking that The Lord wanted my attention.
Looking at some scripture tonight I was reminded that when I am weak God is made strong. Paul said in 2 Corinthians 12:7 that a thorn was given to him in his flesh to keep him from being too elated. This thorn Paul asked God to remove, but the Lord said no "My Grace is sufficient, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Looking at Paul and how he was a great preacher and Apostle. His Pastoral resume was impeccable. He spoke several languages and preached all over the world, yet he had something to remind him that God was in total control and that he should get no glory, but to give it all to the Lord.
Today we see Pastors, Bishops, Evangelist, Teachers, singers, worship leaders, and alter workers getting the BIG head because they have a position of leadership. The spotlight is on them and they do their job well, but God is not getting glory because everyone cant see Him for them. God knows that when we are weak, He is made strong. So lets be humble and allow God to get the Glory out of our lives.
For Pastor O, this thorn in my flesh is a constant humbling reminder that its not by power and not by might, but by His spirit that I do what I do . So often I preach and teach and never take time to sit there and be taught, that is a doorway for the enemy so slip pride in. Now this reminder lets me know that I'm still weak and God's Grace is sufficient.
Thanks for reading!!!

Living Sacrifice
Looking at the way the world is today, no one wants to sacrifice themselves for the greater good anymore. Sacrifices are made now for self improvement and for our children to become something better in life or to have a better life. These things are good, but the sacrifice of our temple (bodies) are no longer done for our walk with the Lord.
Paul says that "I beseech you brothers by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God which is your reasonable service." in the Old Testament sacrificial system there needed to be a blood sacrifice in order to please God. The blood of an animal had to be sprinkled on the alter and the body of the sacrifice had to be burned before the Lord. Here God has the ultimate blood sacrifice in Jesus Christ and now he wants us as Christians to give our bodies wholly to him.
Our testimony for a sacrifice of our body should be, the things I used to say I don't say any more, the things I used to do I don't do any more, and even the places I used to go I don't go any more because I'm living a holy life. God wants us to live a holy life before him and because our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, we have to treat it as such. This is a reasonable service unto God because of all he has done for us. Remember Jesus said be ye Holy for I am Holy.

VICTORY
Why do Christians walk in defeat? They for the most part believe what the enemy says about them. We have become victims of society and just another notch in the enemies belt. The real problem is that Believers forget who they are and Who's they are. In other words we cannot walk in complete victory until we believe that we can win the fight.
Winning the fight has to do with your mind because the bible says that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities. in other words the battle is in out minds. The enemy will defeat you before the fight even begins if you think you will loose. A physical example is when 2 boxers are about to fight each other they both believe in their minds that they will win and until the judges give their decision of who won the fight they still believe they will win or has a chance to win.
The enemy has robbed the church of its desire to fight and we have come to the point that its a lost cause, but the bible clearly says that at the end we win. So transform your thinking and fight the good fight of faith.

The Promise
Sorry my blog family, I have been down for a few days. I am feeling a little better though.
looking back to the Old Testament we can notice that God called some of the most prominent leaders in the bible days to place that were unfamiliar yo them. All God promised them was that He would bless them. Take Abraham for example, God told him to get out of his country, leave his fathers house, and get away from your kindred. the only promise that God gave Abram was that he would bless those that blessed him and that he would curse those that would curse him, and that he would make him a great nation. the problem came in when Abram looked at his age, he was 75 years old.
God Called Abram out of the familiar land of his land where he grew up and knew everyone to an unspecific place to do an unspecific thing for God's glory. Turns out that Abram listens to the Lords call and is obedient to his voice. In doing this Abraham becomes the Father of many nations. God wants us to be obedient to His call and to his voice no matter what the situation appears to look like. He will not leave us nor forsake us.
With is being obedient we can know that the same promise that was on the life of Abraham is still valid today for us as believers. That God will bless those who bless us and that he will curse those who curse us. So speak encouragement to your brother or sister on their journey. God will Honor His word as he did then so shall he do it now. Don't give up in the middle of the fight just remember his promises.
