Looking at the way the world is today, no one wants to sacrifice themselves for the greater good anymore. Sacrifices are made now for self improvement and for our children to become something better in life or to have a better life. These things are good, but the sacrifice of our temple (bodies) are no longer done for our walk with the Lord.
Paul says that "I beseech you brothers by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God which is your reasonable service." in the Old Testament sacrificial system there needed to be a blood sacrifice in order to please God. The blood of an animal had to be sprinkled on the alter and the body of the sacrifice had to be burned before the Lord. Here God has the ultimate blood sacrifice in Jesus Christ and now he wants us as Christians to give our bodies wholly to him.
Our testimony for a sacrifice of our body should be, the things I used to say I don't say any more, the things I used to do I don't do any more, and even the places I used to go I don't go any more because I'm living a holy life. God wants us to live a holy life before him and because our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, we have to treat it as such. This is a reasonable service unto God because of all he has done for us. Remember Jesus said be ye Holy for I am Holy.
This is Pastor O saying you don't have to fight for the victory, you can fight from your place of victory because the victory is already ours. peace.

VICTORY
Why do Christians walk in defeat? They for the most part believe what the enemy says about them. We have become victims of society and just another notch in the enemies belt. The real problem is that Believers forget who they are and Who's they are. In other words we cannot walk in complete victory until we believe that we can win the fight.
Winning the fight has to do with your mind because the bible says that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities. in other words the battle is in out minds. The enemy will defeat you before the fight even begins if you think you will loose. A physical example is when 2 boxers are about to fight each other they both believe in their minds that they will win and until the judges give their decision of who won the fight they still believe they will win or has a chance to win.
The enemy has robbed the church of its desire to fight and we have come to the point that its a lost cause, but the bible clearly says that at the end we win. So transform your thinking and fight the good fight of faith.

The Promise
Sorry my blog family, I have been down for a few days. I am feeling a little better though.
looking back to the Old Testament we can notice that God called some of the most prominent leaders in the bible days to place that were unfamiliar yo them. All God promised them was that He would bless them. Take Abraham for example, God told him to get out of his country, leave his fathers house, and get away from your kindred. the only promise that God gave Abram was that he would bless those that blessed him and that he would curse those that would curse him, and that he would make him a great nation. the problem came in when Abram looked at his age, he was 75 years old.
God Called Abram out of the familiar land of his land where he grew up and knew everyone to an unspecific place to do an unspecific thing for God's glory. Turns out that Abram listens to the Lords call and is obedient to his voice. In doing this Abraham becomes the Father of many nations. God wants us to be obedient to His call and to his voice no matter what the situation appears to look like. He will not leave us nor forsake us.
With is being obedient we can know that the same promise that was on the life of Abraham is still valid today for us as believers. That God will bless those who bless us and that he will curse those who curse us. So speak encouragement to your brother or sister on their journey. God will Honor His word as he did then so shall he do it now. Don't give up in the middle of the fight just remember his promises.

Being the Light
Today as Christians all over the world seem to be busy with the rigors of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, we have lost sight of what Jesus told us to be. Jesus as we have stated before in a previous blog said that He is the light of the world and we have the Light on the inside of us. Now Jesus tells us because we are saved and because we have His salvation because of His blood, we now are he Light of the world.
Matthew 5:14 says "You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid. 15 No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven." Now that Jesus is with His Father we as Christians must Be the Light that unbelievers look to. we cannot put our lights under a basket and hide any longer because we are that city that sits on a hill. Christians today have their life on display to the world, and sometimes its not fair, but because of who we are and Who's we are causes the world to look to us and have a higher standard than others. the problem is when Christians try to hide or blend in with the darkness of the world.
Christians don't have to loose their swagger, their coolness, or their status because of being a Christian, all we need to do is allow our Light to shine wherever we go. If its hanging wit friends, let your people know who you are and do your best to live up to the reputation of being a Christian. I'm not saying that we have to carry a Bible under our arms or walk around saying God or Jesus says in every other sentence, but be who you are and don't allow your Christian values and standards go away just because others do. Hey y'all let's Be the Light
As always this is Pastor O, I love you and there aint (yes i said aint) nothing you can do about it. PEACE

In The LIGHT
Please watch my video blog as we are talking about walking in the light
Jesus is the Light of the world and becuase he bids we as Christians to follow him we have the light on the inside of us which is Jesus. Weecan Change the World by using this light and become that light to others who are lost if we are to walk in His image.

Can we live in his Image
As we embark on this journey of life we come across the thought of, "living in the image of Christ." Now as Christians we were created in God's image, but the thought comes across our minds can we actually live in His image. Well one of the very first questions we have to ask is how do we live in the image of someone anyway? This alone is hard to do with another simple human being, but we are talking about the son of God here who lived a perfect life, this perfect life was the life without sin. Are you kidding me, a life totally without sin, this ,means no over eating, no thoughts of cussing someone out when we thought they deserve it, (not actually saying the words) Not cheating on your taxes even just a little, not even speeding on the highway when everyone else is passing you by. Then we will explore How to live in the image of Christ and what that would detail. We will take a journey into the world of the life of Christ and see if the goal of living like he did is an attainable goal or not. May people talk a good game while in front of other Christians, but when confronted with the world and its choices fail the eaisiet test time after time. I'm looking foward to this journey with you and your imput as we can learn together.
